Google Launches New Version of Mobile-friendly Testing Tool

By Jillean Kearney on May 17, 2016

Last week, Google officially rolled out the second iteration of its mobile-friendly update. Now, Google has announced that the new version of its mobile-friendly testing tool is live.

You can see and test out the new tool here.

The updated tool has a cleaner interface, and it appears to be speedier too.

Google's mobile-friendly testing tool was first launched in November 2014. This is the largest update to the tool since then.

Yaniv Loewenstein, a member of the Google Search Console Team wrote:

"The updated tool provides us with room to continue to improve on its functionality, and over time, we expect it to replace the previous Mobile Friendly Test. Additionally, of course this tool also works well on your smartphone, if you need to double-check something there!"
