Google has just made significant changes to the general section of its Webmaster Guidelines documentation. The documentation now provides more in-depth information and examples to help webmasters create websites that are user-friendly and that Google will find/rank.
The section does have a lot more content now, and many links to helpful resources.
Google has removed a line that read:
Following these guidelines will help Google find, index, and rank your site. Even if you choose not to implement any of these suggestions, we strongly encourage you to pay very close attention to the “Quality Guidelines.”
The guidelines now state:
Following the General Guidelines below will help Google find, index, and rank your site.
We strongly encourage you to pay very close attention to the Quality Guidelines below…
Google has not made any changes to the Guideline's section regarding content quality, but the Webmaster Guidelines documentation is the place for online marketers to go for SEO and usability best practices.Add a Comment | Back to Top
