Google has just revealed a brand new look for Google Plus. This is one of many iterations that the platform has gone through since it first launched back in 2011.
The latest version now emphasizes communities, with the goal of being the place where like-minded people can meet. According to Google, Google Plus will host hyper-niche forums, like one for hummingbird enthusiasts.
Luke Wroblewsk, a Google product director, wrote in a blog post: “Today we’re taking a big step toward making Google+ an even better place for your interests. To do so, we’ve drastically simplified nearly every aspect of the product.”
"Now focused around interests, the new Google+ is much simpler." Wroblewski continued. And it’s more mobile-friendly—we’ve rebuilt it across web, Android and iOS so that you’ll have a fast and consistent experience whether you are on a big screen or small one"
Business Insider recently released a report that stated Google Plus currently has 2.2 billion users, but less than 10 percent actually use the platform to post content.
“While this is an exciting new beginning for us, we’re definitely not done yet,” Wroblewski continued. “We got here by listening and learning, and will continue doing so.”Add a Comment | Back to Top
