Yesterday morning, Google surprised everyone by confirming that a core search algorithm update was rolled out. The update is not related to the Panda update that SEOs have been expecting.
Google sent Search Engine Land the following statement: "This is not a Panda update. As you know, we’re always making improvements to our search algorithms and the web is constantly evolving. We’re going to continue to work on improvements across the board."
Google isn't releasing much info on what is different about its search algorithm. The update seems similar to the "Phantom Update" that Google rolled out earlier this spring, which altered the search engine's quality ranking signals. It's likely that you'll notice some traffic spikes or dips this week.Add a Comment | Back to Top
