Coca-Cola, Dove and the Indian government all recently debuted custom emojis on Twitter. The latest brand to jump on Twitter's new feature is Toyota.
The automaker and the social platform worked together to create a custom football-themed emoji. Now, when a Twitter user types #letsgofans a fan finger emoji pops up.
Digiday spoke to Bryan DeSena, account director at Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles, and he said, "This is our way of providing Toyota's sports fans more ammunition to express themselves. We are thinking of it as a digital tailgate cheer."
The custom emoji was launched as part of a sports marketing campaign to get fans to download FanMoji, Toyota's recently-launched custom keyboard app. The app includes niche football emojis and stickers that fans can use across different platforms.
"We don't want to run ads on Twitter to get people to download FanMoji, we also want to give them some more value," DeSena said.Add a Comment | Back to Top
