CMS Critic recently posted a great article about the seven most common mistakes that people make when choosing WordPress, Drupal or Joomla (the three most popular open source CMS platforms currently on the market).
These three platforms, while popular, aren't always the best option to solve everyone's digital problems.
For example, one common reason some people go with one of the three platforms listed above is: "They have a plug-in that I want to use."
The reasoning behind this thought is foolhardy because, as CMS Critic states, it's fairly inexpensive to hire a freelance developer (or your CMS vendor's team of developers, if possible) to create and code a plug-in that you would like to integrate .
