How To Turn Your Website Into a Revenue Generation Machine

By Anthony Valela on April 28, 2017

Did you know that the average Ecommerce spending of a repeat customer is double that of a new customer? And that upselling and cross-selling can contribute to up to 30% of Ecommerce revenue?

There are many unexpected ways in which optimizing your Ecommerce strategy can lead to a higher volume of sales. We often get asked by clients about ways to increase their revenue, so we decided to write an article to dig into our top 3 tips for revenue generation using your website. We hope you find it useful!

Tip #1: Integrate your Ecommerce platform with your website

This may seem obvious, but we can’t overstate the importance of integrating your Ecommerce with your site to increase efficiency and make the most of your online sales potential.

One of the most useful things when it comes to Ecommerce platforms is detailed reports, so ensuring your platform of choice provides these could be instrumental in increasing your sales.

You can use reports to find out which products or tickets are selling best and provide special offers accordingly as a way to boost sales.

Reports also give you insight into the demographic of your customers, so if there’s a particular persona or demographic group purchasing one or several of your products, you could tailor your next offering to them specifically.

Tip #2: Utilize real estate on your website

Your website itself is a great piece of real estate that you can leverage to increase your revenue. You can do this in two ways:

  1. By highlighting your own products and tickets in that space to increase sales of those particular products.
  2. By selling it as ad space or sponsored content that is relevant to your site. For example, if your site is tourism-related, you could sell this space to a local amusement park. Not only will this bring in additional revenue, but it will also establish your site as a tourism hub and industry expert.

Tip #3: Use your website to cross-sell and upsell to customers

As we mentioned earlier, cross-selling and upselling are incredibly effective ways of increasing your online sales and revenue. There are endless ways to promote cross-selling and upselling, such as providing product “upgrades” during checkouts or including recommendations on relevant product and event pages.

If you’re selling tickets, you could use the checkout to provide add-ons. For example, if you’re a movie theatre, during checkout you could offer discounts on concessions, or special promotions that they can use towards future purchases.

We hope you found these tips useful. Keep in mind that maximizing your existing resources is always an efficient and affordable way to increase your online sales!
