The email marketing metrics that you should be tracking

Email marketing success can be measured based on best practices and key performance indicators.

MarketingProfs rounded up seven metrics that all email marketers should be paying attention to.

Up first is delivery rate. This measures the number of emails that are successfully delivered versus the total number sent (bounce rate, essentially).

Delivery rate is important for two main reasons. One, it confirms the actual size your subscriber base. Two, if bounce rates are high it can lead to blacklisting which should be avoided at all costs.

Another important metric is unique open rate. This metrics reveals the amount of times an email was viewed by a single subscriber. It's an important metric because subscribers that open an email multiple times actually inflate your overall open rate.
